Energize you Local Economy by Unleashing the Entrepreneur Spirit

As the spirit of entrepreneurialism emerges as an even more critical component of our nation’s economic recovery and well being, NCATC is proud to welcome a key ally in informing and fostering that ethos, the Virtual Training Center (VTC) as a Strategic Alliance Corporate Partner.

As part of the  Strategic Alliance Partnership, VTC, located in Scottsdale, Arizona,  brings to the members of NCATC the opportunity to delve into the nuts and bolts of entrepreneurship and to learn how they, too can launch their own enterprises. That opportunity springs from VTC’s making available the Cisco Entrepreneur Institute’s curriculum at no charge to NCATC members.

“President Barack Obama recently said, “It is entrepreneurship and industry that are the wellsprings of an economy that has been the greatest force of progress and prosperity in human history,” a viewpoint that we at VTC live every day,” said Dr. David Alexander, Director of the Virtual Training Center “If by teaching the Entrepreneur curriculum at a NCATC member college a veteran or an unemployed or newly laid-off worker can mature an idea into a new business that helps grow the local economy and provide jobs then this Partnership will have been successful”.

Craig McAtee, NCATC Executive Director said “Our member colleges have students and graduates that are highly skilled in new and emerging technologies. By providing them the opportunity to learn entrepreneurial skills through the Partnership with VTC, it is our hope that many of these students and graduates will become successful Entrepreneurs thereby assisting in the economic development of their communities”

The curriculum, which features   online courses and workshops in Starting a Business, Growing a Business, iExec Enterprise Essentials, Entrepreneur Mindset, Smart Technology for a Smarter Business™, Computer Literacy and Career Essentials provides invaluable insight into not only what it means to be an entrepreneur but what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur. Videos, slides, simulations, and participant guides are embedded in the curriculum to enhance the learner’s online experience and make more readily accessible the lessons and strategies behind future success... All instructional materials are designed as ‘blended learning’ with supplemental Instructor Guides to ease course facilitation. NCATC members can sign up for a free semester by clicking here.
